Description

Character drawn for a very good friend, I give you Gord!

Name: Gorden P. Botwright
Alias:Gord, Will kick you in the shin if referred to as Gordon. Bandage Bill.
Age:26(Born 1751)
Profession:Grenadier in British 54th Reg.

Tall, strong, and recently having lost much weight Gord is the ideal Grenadier, save for the fact that he lost an eye in the Battle of Trois-Rivieres. Rather than wear an eye patch, connotations of piracy and all that, he re-bandages the right half of his face each morning. Normally not overly concerned about his garb, informal or military, but is quite proud of the bearskin hat and keeps better care of it than his other possessions.

Nationality:English
Birthplace:of Norfolk
History: Gorden comes from an upper class family and thus was able to be tutored for most of his life. He rarely saw his parents, who were often out entertaining or campaigning and thus grew close to his nanny and brothers. After disliking public school he joined the British Army and found his new passion. After showing an interest he was taught by an older Grenadier, Elmer Whitaker, an accomplished soldier but could not continue due to age. After showing exemplary service Gord was promoted to a Grenadier at a relatively young age, a position which he greatly enjoys and is proud of his bearskin cap.
During the battle of Trois-Riviers he defended Quebec with the 53rd under the command of General John Burgoyne. Despite the decisive British victory he was still wounded and lost the use of an eye. This deeply disturbed Gord, who thought of himself as an attractive individual, and he spent his recovery period stressing. Eventually he returned to duty as a Grenadier but has not recovered mentally, and thinks of himself as repugnant. He earned the name Bandage Bill, despite not having a Bill, or William in his name, mostly because the rest of his regiment really liked alliteration. Has recently been transferred to the 54th.

Huh... wasn't the 54th Foot a green faced regiment with rectangular lace?
